I have a 700 sq ft apartment. Is a 10×10 storage unit enough space? ?

August 20th, 2010

I do have tons of furniture: entertainment center, 2 bookcases, large couch, chaise loung, mattress, bed frame, table & chairs, jewelry chest and then tons of books/clothes, etc.

Thanks for your help!
For those two who have already answered – I listed what furniture I have. Please read the WHOLE question before answering and if you don’t know, why waste my time and others? It defeats the purpose of Yahoo answers to say "I don’t know".

August 11th, 2010

Brought woodworking patterns up but the FC&A Patterns won’t come up. They advertise under Woodworking Patterns/FC&A, but the web site you have to go to states: page cannot be found.

How to pick out hardwood floor to go with your house and trim/baseboards/banisters, etc…..?

August 9th, 2010

My parents are wanting to get hardwood floors throughout the main floors (except entrance, kitchen & bathroom) How do you choose a hardwood floor to go with the trimmings, baseboards, cabinets, built in bookcases, etc. Do we take all of this into consideration or does it matter even all that much? How do we go about this?

I want to rent an insulated garage or space where I can do my woodworking hobbies?

July 6th, 2010

I need a place to do woodworking, it needs to be insulated so it can be heated in winter time. I need several 110vac, 20 amp plugs. It should have at least 1 window and 1 walk in door. It also needs overhead lighting and a cement or wood floor. It should be at least 20×30 ft or 24×24 ft and have a restroom. It should be in or no more that 40 miles from Indianapolis, in. 46227

re-painting my living room and need suggestions!?

July 4th, 2010

I will be re-painting my living room soon and still can’t decide on a color. I know I want to stay neutral, but not sure what will go with my furniture. Problem is I have way too many colors going on in my living room. TV/Entertainment stand & wall shelves are black, carpet is dark green, a wood colored table & bookcase, and a red & blue couch. We do plan on getting a new (matching) couch and loveseat but that won’t be for another year or so. The window is huge and the sunlight pours in the LR, and the wall is cut out to view the kitchen, which contains light brown paneling. I’m thinking of going with a tan or beige color for the walls, but it’s the green carpet that throws me off on making this choice.

I have a light yellow color on the bedroom walls so I don’t want to go with this again. Also should I paint the hallway the same color, or go with something else? Everything is so close together that I just want it to blend. I currently have a medium green in the hallway and hate it.

Any suggestions other than white paint would be nice. My trim will be white.

Whats the best way to get rid of splinters when building a bookcase?

June 19th, 2010

The wife & I are building a bookcase for a playroom and want to get it as smooth as possible. We sanded the heck out of it but still want to get it a bit smoother. Once we stain the wood will it be close to perfectly smooth or is there something else we should do before or after staining such as using polyurethane? I’m going to have an 18 month old playing in and around this so I need to make sure it’s as smooth as possible.

Best places to shop for computer desks online (UK)?

June 9th, 2010

I’ve tried John Lewis, Ikea, B&Q and Next but I’m stuck as to where else to look online. Have you any suggestions as to places which sell desks which can be used in a bedroom or study?

Thanks
I’ve found what I was looking for.

How can I redo my room without a specific theme?

May 15th, 2010

I recently bought a new bed spread(http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/assets/product_images/380/21579103943C.JPG) and I want to redo my room. It’s painted a light blue and I would like to keep it a shade of blue, but I don’t want it to be overpowering and I’d like to have it sort of go with the bed spread if that would be possible. I have some shelves up and a bookcase. The reason I don’t want a theme is because I have many different things in my room that I would like to keep in there as well as posters that aren’t of the same category. Any suggestions on how I can repaint/redo my room to make it more up-to-date and make things look like they go together (or at least make the room look like it was planned instead of things just being there)? Also, I’m on a bit of a budget so any money-saving tips would work! ;)
try this link. i hope it works.

Is there a good woodworking lumber supplier in Western Pennsylvania?

May 2nd, 2010

I know there’s a bunch of stores like Groff & Groff and Hearne Hardwoods out in Eastern Pa, but there must be some in Western Pa. NOT looking for hardwood floors, but hardwood lumbers for woodworking like Walnut, Mahogany, Oak, etc.
