August 18th, 2010

By this I mean, What wall decorations do you have? What are the colors of the walls? what size of bed do you have? where is your closet, windows, door located in your room? What furinture in general do you have, desk, bookcases, bed (of course), dresser,? What would you change about it if anything?

re-painting my living room and need suggestions!?

July 4th, 2010

I will be re-painting my living room soon and still can’t decide on a color. I know I want to stay neutral, but not sure what will go with my furniture. Problem is I have way too many colors going on in my living room. TV/Entertainment stand & wall shelves are black, carpet is dark green, a wood colored table & bookcase, and a red & blue couch. We do plan on getting a new (matching) couch and loveseat but that won’t be for another year or so. The window is huge and the sunlight pours in the LR, and the wall is cut out to view the kitchen, which contains light brown paneling. I’m thinking of going with a tan or beige color for the walls, but it’s the green carpet that throws me off on making this choice.

I have a light yellow color on the bedroom walls so I don’t want to go with this again. Also should I paint the hallway the same color, or go with something else? Everything is so close together that I just want it to blend. I currently have a medium green in the hallway and hate it.

Any suggestions other than white paint would be nice. My trim will be white.

Painting my room… Good Idea????

June 22nd, 2010

Okay, Im painting my room 2 colors, ( the room is a long rectangle, quite wide also.) I plan to paint the longest walls a Bright Yellow (Known by {{Sico}} as "Dark Lemon" and the other 2 walls a burnt orange (known as "Pumpkin seed" or something like that.) orange on 2 opposite walls, yellow on the other 2 etc.

My idea was to place my bed, desk and side table on one of the orange walls ( farthest away from the door.) Over by the other orange wall/part of the yellow will be a chair that hangs from the wall, and my bookcases and dresser.
I plan to place a curtain of fabric that splits the room in half, width-wise,, and it would have a cute fabric that had yellow/orange and BROWN in it( brown for the blinds )(woo hoo accent-ish color )( curtain splits in half so i can open/close the sections)
I have a canopy bed… would it be too much to have anything on it? or could i opt. for a brown silk or something for the canopy? The feel for the room is brightn’energitic, full of life.Good?

How can I paint my IKEA bookcase?

May 31st, 2010

I have an IKEA bookcase and small-sized entertainment center that I bought years ago. I’m moving and want to bring them with me but their colors just don’t go with my new decor. Is there a way to paint them so that they look decent?? Would love to paint them a dark cherry color but not sure if I can – or if I should.
