I’m looking for bookcases and other furniture for my bookstore, but haven’t found any I like, so I thought I’d try seeing if I could get the Amish to make me what I need.
I went to see a house this weekend and in all the rooms where the bookcases etc touched the walls, the landlord had taped foil between the furniture and the wall. We couldn’t figure out why? Damp? Mice?
Does anyone know, or has anyone done the same thing?
Thanks
I’m moving next month and have quite a bit of furniture I’d rather get rid of than leave… the couch is in real bad shape, but bookcases, desks, etc. are all very usable… Is there some way to donate it and get some dude in a truck to come out and take it all away?
I do have tons of furniture: entertainment center, 2 bookcases, large couch, chaise loung, mattress, bed frame, table & chairs, jewelry chest and then tons of books/clothes, etc.
Thanks for your help!
For those two who have already answered – I listed what furniture I have. Please read the WHOLE question before answering and if you don’t know, why waste my time and others? It defeats the purpose of Yahoo answers to say "I don’t know".
I work at an office supply store and I want to start assembling furniture for customers on the side–just small desks and bookcases–things you would find at a place like IKEA.
I have a wonderful affectionate male kitten but he’s a little terror. I understand he’s a kitten and will grow out of some stuff but how do I keep him from climbing furniture? He’s knocking over vases, pictures, etc.
He’s finally grown out of the climbing the curtains stage, so I’m happy about that. lol
I’ll try the double sided tape and balloons! Also, I’ll do the squirt bottle when I can since I’ve not done it like I really should. The mist spray is the only thing that works and I can’t always run over to him in time. (my cat likes the shower so water doesn’t bug him unless he gets beyond soaked) He has a cat condo and is allowed on the sofa. I just need to train him on all the other stuff. lol. Thanks for the great suggestions! oh, and I have a girl kitty who is an angel so he’s got a friend
I have a pretty big bedroom so I have enough room for dressers, desk, bookcase, bed, drum set, and some other table and shelving surfaces. I love the way everything is arranged because I can get around easily and find everything I need.
However, I need change! I used to always move furniture when I was sick of the way the room looked, but I like the arrangement. How else can I make the room a little different? Spice it up? I’m planning on moving my posters into different places (I like the ones I have up), but that doesn’t seem like enough. A change in my room tends to make me want to keep it cleaner and I enjoy spending time in it more.
Thanks for your help!
Like stove, fridge, washer and dryer?
What about furniture like couches, bookcases, beds?
How often do you clean behind and underneath these things? Thanks!
My husband and I are moving to a new apartment. We have fairly large furniture: a sectional couch, 2 large bookcases, a tv w stand, and two thin cabinets with dvds/vhs movies. Our home is decorated in beach decor. I am looking for a good idea of what to do with a small area under the stairs of our new place. It can be seen from the entrance, and I have no idea what to do. We have two small children, so maybe a play area? I would appreciate any design ideas.
