I’m looking to get a bench sander, I see Sears has the belt and disc type, and I see some other brands (Home Depot) have a spindle type with different size spindles.
Which do you think is better for general woodworking?

What is a good bookcase with glass doors?
May 25th, 2010I would like something about 2 or 3 shelves (counting the bottom shelf). And I would like it be be kinda airtight. And as inexpensive as possible. I have tried looking all over for some like I have described (OfficeMax, Home Depot, ect) But I can not find any. So if you could link me to a retail site with a bookcase I described it would be appreciated.

What type of wood is good for all purpose woodwork?
May 23rd, 2010I want to go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and buy some lumber for my newly bought power tools. I plan on making random things whenever I feel like it and I’m looking for a general all purpose type of wood. I know there are specific woods for specific projects but there has to be something that’s okay for everything. I want to build chests, little bookcases, rice paper lamps, stools, dvd cases, or whatever else I can think of. I’d also like to keep it in the cheap to moderate price range nothing expensive I just want to stock up. Thanks.

Where can I find a ladder for use with a bookcase?
May 15th, 2010I have a tall bookcase that requires a ladder. Where can I find one online? I have searched eBay and Yahoo and have found nothing. Ikea sells them, but we don’t have any Ikea stores in my state, and if I order one from their site, they will charge me over 0 just to ship it. If you know of an online store that sells nice, reasonably priced ladders for use with bookcases, please let me know. Thanks!

How much wood do I need to build a bookcase?
April 21st, 2010I’m making a bookcase that’s 2 ft wide and 3 feet tall for my carpentry class and my teacher says we need a project plan that includes all the material and prices. Well I know how many nails and what tools I need but I don’t know how to find out how much wood and how much it’ll cost? I’m on The Home Depot site but I still can’t figure it out. I want wood that’s not crappy but not something too expensive.
